Happy Holidays
Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
There is a strange sense of melancholy in realising this is going to be our last Christmas at home for at least a couple of years.
It is also, traditionally, the time to look back and reflect. 2017 has been a very eventful year for us, both positive and negative. It has been a lot to deal with, honestly. It was a year filled with grief over losing people and celebrating new life in the form of our wonderful little niece. We told the kids our plans and went to their school to talk. We did several courses in preparation, on the subjects of safety at sea, medical and weather. We are in the process of decluttering and seriously pairing down our belongings, plus doing paint jobs and other DIY jobs to get our house in tip top shape for renting out. In spring we did our shakedown cruise and sailed from Portugal via Gibraltar to Almerimar in Spain. In summer, we spent a glorious month aboard Blue Pearl and got a small taste of cruising life before heading back home for a wedding.
I quit my job in August and I am honestly still adjusting. Change is positive but also a bit disorienting and scary.
We have so much to look forward to in 2018 and we hope to share most of it with you. Thank you for sticking with us. Our content, written and in the form of videos, is going to increase in the near future, as I still have backlog of videos in editing and our adventure will properly start in a couple of months.
Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2018 to all of you!
