By Joline. After a beautiful 26 hour sail we have arrived in La Linea, just north of Gibraltar. We had so many dolphins accompanying us we lost count. We do know we have now seen striped, common and bottlenose dolphins at this point. During my night watch Robin briefly accompanied me and we both saw bioluminescent stripes in the water where dolphins swam next to our boat. A magical sight in an otherwise pitchdark night. In the morning we were greeted by another large pod of striped dolphins, swimming and jumping at our bow for a good amount of time while the kids jumped up and down with joy (and me too!).
If our plans don’t change, we’ll sail out of here at dusk tomorrow to catch the high tide and good wind out of the Strait. Next stop: Rabat, Morocco. Can’t wait!
